In a competition involving teams from Canberras finest clubs Danielle and Mark brought home the Gold. The inaugural competition designed to heighten the awareness of the talent and skills contain in local club kitchens was a huge success. The judges commenting openly on the exceptional standards attained in all areas. Competitors were judged on wide range of disciplines, everything from menu compilation, costing, timing, wine matching, creativity, presentation, innovation and even to the point of designing the physical menu. Of course as is the case with chefs the food had to taste great and be cooked to perfection. The three course menu was served to a table of twenty people including the three judges and representatives from ClubsACT and ACTTAB.

Chefs Network  congratulates Danielle and Mark for their achievements along with Silver and Bronze winners Brett Dean and John Kidman from the Erindale Vikings Club and David Seymour and Fraser Rowntree from the Southern Cross Yacht Club. We would also like to thank ACTTAB for the generous sponsorship of the award and ClubsACT  for their support of local chefs.

The Accelerated Chefs Apprenticeship.

Chefs Network  has been pleased to be involved with this exciting new initative. A positive step towards solving the skills shortage we are experiencing. It will help put the prestige back into wearing the whites and ensure that skills retention numbers will improve.
